About me and my practice

Collaboratively we can explore your difficult experiences, as well as behavioural patterns that could be infringing your success.

Through our experiences, we may have in place our own coping mechanisms or resources, like talking to family members, friends, or a trusted significant other. However, there are times when it may prove too much to turn to your close support system to ask for help when faced with life's challenging experiences.

Over time, with your therapy process you can start to build a more fulfilling, empowered sense of self.
Whilst, enhancing on personal growth, as well as revealing positive qualities and attributes about yourself. This could also leave you feeling empowered and in control of your own healing journey.

I am still humbled, and do not take it for granted when a potential client chooses me to be a part of their therapeutic journey. I also understand that deciding to contact a therapist is not an easy one to make. However, taking that step can be a brave and decisive one to self-healing.

Experience

Within my professional background I have worked within various industries such as property, hospitality, retail, and financial services (trading, private investment, and retail banking).

I have also worked as a mentor and a volunteer for many different charity organisations that specialise in the areas of self-harm; suicide; children impacted by physical and learning disabilities; low-income households, and clients with various mental health needs.

Over time, I recognised in both my professional and charitable roles how much I enjoyed helping and supporting others, so I decided to change course to work solely as a therapist.

Additionally, I am registered and a member of the BACP British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The BACP is one of the main governing bodies that oversee the accreditation and registration, of qualified and experienced counsellors in the United Kingdom. am listed in the directory and work in accordance to the BACP ethical framework.

Qualifications

In addition, to my membership with the BACP I have completed my therapy training in London at Birkbeck University and the Mary Ward Centre.

Initial Consultation

It is important that you find a counsellor who is a good fit for you. When a potential client contacts me, I offer an initial free 15-minute consultation call.

This initial meeting gives us both a sense of who we are, an insight to explore what you are looking for from counselling, and for you to ask any questions you may have.

Should you decide to continue, there will be a follow up 50-minute assessment session at a chargeable rate. At this meeting, I will take a history of your background and ask you why you are seeking support at this point. We will also discuss what are your needs and goals for therapy.

I offer contracts for long term or short-term work. For short-term work there is a requirement of a minimum of 6 sessions. After the sixth session, we can review our work together where a client can consider if they would like to extend the contract. All sessions last 50 minutes. I work either in person or online via zoom.
